When people think of Hokkien food, they would think of the black sauce Hokkien fried prawn mee and Fried prawns rolls. But Hokkien food is more than that.
Beng Thin Hoon Kee is a very old Hokkien restaurant in Singapore. It opened in 1949 in Hokkien Street and moved to its current location at the 5th floor of OCBC Centre multi-storey carpark in 1979.
And today, we are dining at their Toa Payoh restaurant. (#01-06/07/09/10, 600 Toa Payoh Lorong 4)
Signature Dish – Crab Meat Fish Maw Soup
Sweet and soothing soup with generous portions of fish maw and crab meat.
Signature Dish – Ngor Hiang Prawn Rolls
Little morsels of crunchy goodness stuffed with their secret recipe Ngor Hiang mix.
Signature Dish – Hokkien Fried Noodles
It’s more than just Hokkien Noodles. We are not sure if it’s the sauce or the prawns that kept us eating, whatever it is though, there is magic in this dish!
Signature Dish – Or Ni / Yam Paste with Pumpkin Mash & Ginko Nuts
This item is a great delight to to have to complete our meal with just the right amount of oil and pumpkin paste which gives the dessert its right amount of sweetness.
Very affordable and authentic Hokkien cuisine @ Beng Thin Hoon Kee Restaurant ??????.
